Fiber Optic Expanded Beam Connector.

Abstract

This interim technical report describes the first of two phases of development of a two channel, expanded beam, fiber optic connector. The connector has been designed with two Selfoc micro lenses per connector half providing the expanded beam nature. The preliminary development models resulting from this phase are explained in detail. The final models (phase II) will be based on these models with modifications mandated by test results and handling experience. (Author)
