Design and Testing of High Performance Brushes.

Abstract

The aim of this contract has been to increase still further the capabilities of high-performance electrical brushes, as commercially available as well as, indeed with particular emphasis on, the metal fiber and QM brushes. The result of this research has been to confirm and expand somewhat both the theoretical and experimental advances made in the preceding six years. Additionally contributions were made to ancillary research areas, specifically research on friction and wear, and the dislocation behavior controlling wear.
