Objective Analysis and Prediction Techniques.

Abstract

This report summarizes weather research conducted by SASC in several technical areas: in numerical weather prediction, objective analysis, initialization, and global moisture distribution; in mesoscale forecasting, McIDAS-based objective analysis and interactive forecast aids and displays; in boundary studies, specialized computer programs for sensor evaluation and data processing; in radar meteorology, evaluation of storm tracking algorithms, development of techniques for wind retrieval and relative storm motions; in satellite meteorology, application of McIDAS data to specification of weather elements.
