The Effect of Coordinate System Rotation on Spherical Harmonic Expansions. A Numerical Method.

Abstract

A numerical method is presented for effecting the transformation of a spherical harmonic expansion under an arbitrary rotation of the coordinate system. Included are results of numerical tests with expansions to degree and order 180. These results demonstrate the high accuracy of the algorithm. (Author)
