Biological Response Modifiers in the Immune Response.
Abstract
There were four plenary sessions, four workshops, a panel discussion and a poster session as indicated in the attached program. The poster session was comprised of twenty abstracts of which nineteen were presented as posters; the range of subjects is indicated in the attached program. Many of these were also discussed in the Workshop which also included other short presentations. Most interesting of these was the Workshop on Animal Models for Pre-Clinical Trials. It has been most difficult to ascertain relevant animal models for human cancer and immune therapy. Thus, this session was most useful in informing participants of the most relevant models established to date. While the various biological response modifiers have shown some clinical successes, there were no break-throughs showing overwhelming success with any single product.
