Estimation of Parameters for Truncated Distributions

Abstract

Truncated distributions are frequently encountered in the experimental determination of size distributions of aerosols, dusts, and other collections of small particles. A technique for determining maximum liklihood estimates of the geometric mean and standard deviation of a truncated lognormal distribution has been found in the published literature and implemented in a BASIC computer program. This special publication describes the method and the computer program.
