Bottom Line II Conference. Quality -- The Vital Link in Production and Readiness.

Abstract

The conference was held under the sponsorship of the Office of the Secretary of Defense, and was hosted by the Defense Logistics Agency. The primary theme was -- Quality - The Vital Link in Production and Readiness. During the conference, top-level Government officials met with industry Chief Executive Officers to express their growing concern regarding the overall quality and reliability of defense equipment. Highlighted was the fact that poor quality and reliability of defense equipment. Highlighted was the fact that poor quality adversely impacts the readiness of our Armed Forces; the cost of weapon systems, and our image as the world's industrial leader.
