Inservice Training Needs Assessment in the NAVEDTRACOM (Naval Education and Training Command). Executive Summary

Abstract

This report summarizes work performed by the Training Analysis and Evaluation Group (TAEG) to assess the inservice training (IST) needs of personnel assigned to training activities across the Naval Education and Training Command (NAVEDTRACOM). It presents highlights of the study performed, including the essential purposes of the effort, the basic approaches employed, and analytical procedures used. The report also provides general conclusions and general recommendations concerning IST within the NAVEDTRACOM. In addition, information is provided concerning the jobs currently performed by specific types of training activity personnel. Finally, priorities for IST, and specific conclusions and recommendations are given separately for NAVEDTRACOM training activity: commanding officers, executive officers, and directors of training; department heads, school heads and instructor supervisors instructors; and Curriculum and Instruction Standards Office personnel.
