An Evaluation of SEASAT/Scanning Multichannel Microwave Radiometer (SMMR) Sensor Data Record Tapes (SDR),

Abstract

During the implementation of a SEASAT Antenna Temperature Algorithm (ATA) for the Scanning Multichannel Microwave Radiometer (SMMR) experiment on the CDC 3800 at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL), a detailed comparison of sensor data record (SDR) tapes supplied by the Fleet Numerical Weather Center (FNWC) and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) was made for a selected data set. This document describes the discrepancies found between the tapes from the two sources. (Author)
