Abstract
The Structural Alternatives Appendix presents a description of the structural alternatives investigated for the long-range planning needs of the Metropolitan Washington Area(MWA). The appendix is divided into three major sections. The first section discusses the use of the Potomac Estuary as a water supply alternative, in particular, the Emergency Estuary Water Pumping Station and the Potomac Estuary Experimental Water Treatment Plant. The second section describes the reservoir sites,both upsteam and local, which were examined for potential storage. The last section addresses groundwater as an alternative for the MWA.
