Emergency Closure System and Flood Control Regulation Gate for Hiram M. Chittenden Locks at Lake Washington Ship Canal. Hydraulic Model Investigation

Abstract

A 1:50-scale model was used to evaluate the proposed emergency closure system (ECS) for the large lock at the Lake Washington Ship Canal project. The model was also used to evaluate the acceptability of using the large lock chamber as an auxiliary spillway with the ECS functioning as a regulating gate. (Author)
