Mutual Adaptiveness of Man and Machine in Information Acquisition Tasks

Abstract

Efforts were directed toward the following tasks: Survey and organize a list of analytic feature evaluation functions for use in information acquisition tasks; Formulate military situation assessment tasks as hierarchical multiperspective pattern classification problems, and develop an approach for a decision support system for situation assessment; Design, develop, and test the Information Acquisition software by which computer-based simulation of behavioral and analytical information acquisition strategies may be investigated; Design, develop and test the INFOACQ. EXP software which tracks information acquisition strategies employed by human decision maker in sequential classification tasks.
