Norm Estimates for a Maximal Right Inverse of the Divergence Operator in Spaces of Piecewise Polynomials.

Abstract

This paper studies the divergence operator acting on continuous piecewise polynomials of degree p + 1, p > 3, on triangulations of a plane polygonal domain omega. The authors give a characterization of the range of the divergence operator and the full details of a combinatorial verification of this.
