Research to Provide Automated Training and Testing Capability for Air Defense Weapons Systems
Abstract
The objective of the contract 'Research to provide automated training and testing capability for Air Defense weapon systems' is to demonstrate the training and testing potential of a portable, microcomputer-based instructional delivery system utilizing videodisc laser image access, videographic overlay of computer generated imagery, task action responses via equipment console mock-up, and courseware authoring/control with enhanced Programming Language for Interactive Teaching (PLANIT). A 20-minute sample Skill Qualification Test (SQT) Hands-On Component will be developed for Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 25L--the AN/TSQ-73 (Missile Minder) air defense artillery command and control system operator/repairer. This report provides PLANIT programming for a representative 3 of 12 tasks identified as critical AN/TSQ-73 console operator's tasks. The programming strategy allows errors to be tested in a realistic manner, by an algorithm which evaluates console mock-up switch sequences in terms of optional order and previously activated switches. The programming for these tasks can serve as a model for programming additional tasks.
