Acquiring Better Maintenance Trainers. Lessons Learned in the F-16 SAMT (Simulated Aircraft Maintenance Trainers) Study.

Abstract

This paper presents lessons learned about how to design future maintenance trainers as well as how to conduct training and cost effectiveness studies. Information presented includes background information on the trainers and the F-16 Training Program and cost effectiveness of maintenance trainers in general and of the Simulated Aircraft Maintenance Trainers (SAMTs) in particular. Also included in this paper are specific lessons learned in the areas of trainer design, trainer evaluation, and training systems. (Author)
