Benchmarking Relational Database Machines' Capabilities in Supporting the Database Administrators' Functions and Responsibilities.

Abstract

This thesis describes the functions of the Database Administrator (DBA) and how they are supported by the benchmarked relational database machine. An examination of the relational query language provided, DBA support services required, the performance issues involved, and the security features employed is presented. The goal of this work is to develop general guidelines for DBA to follow in implementing and operating an effective, responsive database system. (Author)
