Report on the DARPA Internet Project. M/A-COM LINKABIT Eastern Operations.

Abstract

This second Quarterly Project Report describes Linkabit's contribution to the DARPA Internet Program during the period of 1 April through 30 June 1983. LINKABIT's efforts in support of the Internet Program are concentrated in the areas of protocol design, implementation, testing and evaluation. In addition, the group is providing integration and support services for certain computer systems to be installed at DARPA sites in Washington, D.C., and Stuttgart, West Germany. The level of staff involvement in computer systems and network support remained fairly high which indicates that the local-network configuration has not yet stabilized completely. Exterior Gateway Protol (EGP) implementation has progressed well, with test implmentations converging and protocol details being finalized. Performance tests and evaluations continued with mixed results, especially with respect to FTP. In addition, several operating system enhancements were made, and bugs were fixed.
