The Validity of Performance Scores Adjusted for Environmental Conditions

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to investigate the validity of a measure of field task performance adjusted for environmental conditions. The difference between the correlation of the adjusted (corrected for adverse environmental conditions such as inclement weather) performance scores and daily ratings of overall job performance and the correlation of the unadjusted (raw score) performance scores with the daily ratings approached significance for the female sample. This finding is seen as encouraging for the further development of the correction procedure.
