A Framework for Research on Adaptive Decision Aids

Abstract

A review of the literature on decision aids is presented, with particular emphasis on aids that adapt to situations and/or users. A framework for design of adaptive decision aids is proposed and used to identify design issues associated with aids for command and control. This framework is also used as a basis for defining several important research issues that should be addressed if adaptive aiding technology is to progress.
