Linear and Nonlinear Finite Elements.

Abstract

A general procedure is presented for the setting up of the element tangent stiffness matrix and element gradient through the discrete sampling of the nonquadratic total potential energy. Computations are done for the plate, the bent rod, the cable, the rubber membrane, and the thin shell of revolution. (Author)
