Recipe Development and Evaluation of the 1983 Revision of the Standard B Ration

Abstract

This report discusses researchers' efforts at the US Army's Natick Research and Development Laboratories to revise B ration recipes and to test the new 10-day menu. Recipes, equipment, and staffing required to prepare 100 servings of the menu were evaluated as well as overall menu acceptance. Water requirements and preparation time were also determined.
