Statistical Model for Range Safety Analysis of Laser Hazard. Revised

Abstract

A statistical model of a laser designator pulse train is developed. The model is applicable to the quantification of range safety hazards associated with field tests of tactical weapons which employ lasers. Numerical results of selected test cases are given. Input variables and operating procedures for the computer programs developed to print and plot the probability of hazard data, as well as isopleths of specified probability levels, are presented in Appendix A. An interactive safe eye distance matrix program which provides an input value for the probability model is described in Appendix B.
