Nuclear and Non-Nuclear Airblast Effects.

Abstract

Advanced FCT (Flux Corrected Transport) numerical algorithms have been utilized in detailed computational simulations. In particular, PBX 9404 816 spheres were simulated. A cylindrical confined surface explosion was modeled. Detailed comparisons of the differences between chemical and nuclear produced shocks were studied. Finally, an analytic approach to the solution of Mach reflection of a planar shock by a wedge was completed. (Author)
