S-Esters of Thiohydroximic Acid Esters - A Novel Class of Cholinesterase Reactivators.

Abstract

A series of S-esters of thiohydroximic acid esters, given by the general formula RC(:O)C(:NOH)S(CH2)nNR2'HCl, where R = CH3; CH3OC6H4, C6H4, NO2C6H4; n = 2,3', R' = CH3, C2H5, or i-C3H7 have been prepared. The compounds were characterized with respect to acidity, nucleophilicity, and kinetics of reactivation of diisopropyl phosphoryl-acetylcholinesterase. The compounds were moderately active in reactivation of the enzyme, and activity is highly dependent on reactivator structure.
