A Guidebook for Software Reliability Assessment.

Abstract

The purpose of this guidebook is to provide state-of-the-art information about the selection and use of existing software reliability models. Towards this objective, we have presented a brief summary of the available models backed by a detailed discussion of most of the models in the appendices One of the difficulties in choosing a model is to find a match between the testing environment and a class of models. To help a user in this process, we have presented a detailed discussion of most of the assumptions that characterize the various software reliability models. The process of developing a model has been explained in detail and illustrated via numerical examples. (Author)
