A Test of Electroluminescent Panels for a Helicopter Emergency Escape Lighting System

Abstract

The effectiveness of a lighting system composed of electroluminescent panels and proposed for use in illuminating escape hatches was tested. It was visible to light-adapted subjects in turbid water at the distance and viewing angles required by the Naval Air Development Center.
