Winona, Minnesota Flood Control Project and Waterfront Development.

Abstract

Much of the city of Winona lies within the floodplain of the Mississippi River. This project provides only partial protection to the city. After the record flood of 1965, city representatives requested that the levee be extended to provide flood protection for the entire Winona riverfront, which had been heavily damaged.
