Experimental Electromagnetic Launchers at MRL (Materials Research Laboratories),

Abstract

The design and construction of small calibre rail-type electromagnetic launchers are described. Bore sizes of 6 x 8 mm or 10 x 10 mm cross section are used and barrel lengths vary from 200 mm to 2 m. Sufficient information is provided to reproduce any of the devices, all of which are proving to be very useful experimentally. Examples of results are presented. (Author)
