Cyclic Voltammetry of Polysulfide (Thiokol) Prepolymers and Related Compounds

Abstract

The cyclic voltammetry of polysulfide prepolymers and related monomeric sulfur compounds has been examined at a gold wire electrode. Electrode processes have been assigned to the polysulfide prepolymers on the basis of those occuring in the model compounds. It has been shown that the technique may be used in the quantitative determination of sulfur or in the determination of prepolymer content in a commercial formulation.
