Standard TV Images for Quality Comparison of Teleconferencing Codecs.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify and recommend standard TV images as the baseline for comparison of teleconferencing Codecs. A series of single frame images, typical of teleconferencing applications is recommended for use as standard images for evaluating both freeze frame and motion codes. The recommended images, to be used to measure codec performance both qualitatively and quantitatively, contains test charts, people scenes, text, and color visuals. (Author)
