Three-Dimensional Laminar Separation.

Abstract

Simple methods for obtaining estimates of skin-friction lines and separation lines are discussed. Results for prolate spheroids and ellipsoids are compared with earlier detailed numerical studies. Flow visualizations of the regions of interest are presented and compared with the calculated results. Streamwise and cross flow velocity profiles measured by Laser Doppler Velocimeter are displayed.
