Measurements of Elongational Viscometry Using a Fiber Spinning Technique. Part 1. Modifications.

Abstract

The Sangamo-Schlumberger Elongational Viscometer (Model E4), as delivered by the manufacturer, did not maintain a constant elongational load under constant flow conditions and consequently could be be used to accurately measure elongational viscosity. The extensive modifications made to the instrument at DRES to correct this problem are described in detail as are other improvements made to the instrument. (Author)
