Red River of the North Basin Preliminary Basinwide Review Study; Summary Report.

Abstract

The report begins with a summary of the 23 volume reconnaissance study and then discusses three strategies that could be used within the context of basinwide water resources planning. Each chapter outlines the components of the strategy, the advantages and disadvantages, potential accomplishments, role of the Corps of Engineers, and institutional arrangements required for implementation. It should be emphasized that these strategies are not recommended as plans for implementation but rather as examples of the range of possibilities available. Conclusions and areas of consensus are presented.
