Engineering and Technical Services to Improve Reliability and Maintainability of Instrument Landing System Components.

Abstract

Results of ILS anomaly investigation conducted at Buffalo, NY, Los Angeles, CA, International Falls, MN, and San Francisco, CA are documented. In addition, an anomalous performance of the FA5723 and FA8633 ILS clearance transmitter was investigated. Studies into the feasibility of ground check procedures for the capture effect glide slope systems and an investigation of maximum allowable audio harmonic content are also presented.
