USAWC Military Studies Program. A Proposal for the United States Army Ethic. Individual Project

Abstract

Operating under the suppositions that the US Army has subjective and objective requirements to promulgate an ethic for its entire membership, and its existing ethic, as delineated in Field Manual 100-1, The Army, is omissive and too general for the inexperienced soldier, this study proposes that an ethic adequate to meet the Army's needs can be formed through a synthesis of active Army documents, regulations, and official literature; Department of Defense documents and regulations; and US laws and statutes. This study then conducts that process and offers a candidate for the Army Ethic.
