Mean Upper Tropospheric Flow over the Global Tropics. Volume 1.

Abstract

Upper air climatology over the tropics is a powerful forecast tool. This technical report consists of mean monthly 200 and 300 millibar wind charts for the global tropics. Volume I is a brief discussion on how the charts were developed, the significant climatological features, and their use. Volume II contains the maps. In day-to-day features and adjust the forecast to these features, their persistence, and their relative effect on sensible weather.
