The Outlook for Military Operations Research.

Abstract

This document surveys developments in warfare and military operations research, to see what lessons these may hold for the future. Specifically, the author assesses two possibilities: (1) that there is a need to reform military O.R. to purge it of accumulated sins, and (2) that military O.R. must be redirected, if it is to ride the wave of the future.
