Connector and Cable Assembly Specifications for the Shape Fiber Optic Network

Abstract

The SHAPE Fiber Optic Network is a multiple-access-route ring-and- spoke communications system designed for survivability and restoration. In such a system, fiber optic connectors become a crucial component of the deployment philosophy because they provide the desired flexibility under both normal and emergency operations. Detailed specifications for monofiber and multiple-channel fiber optic connectors and cable connector assemblies are herein presented.
