Investigation of Acoustic Emission during Fracture Toughness Testing of Chevron-Notched Specimens.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between acoustic emission during stress application and the fracture toughness of four different ferrous alloys. This report is the first of a series investigating the factors influencing acoustic emission from stressed structural materials used in missile applications.
