Active and Passive Remote Sensing of Ice.

Abstract

This is a report on progress that has been made in a study of active and passive remote sensing of ice. During this period the investigators (1) derived the backscattering coefficients for a two-layer anisotropic random medium; (2) calculated the emissivities from a two-layer anisotropic random medium; and (3) participated in the microwave sea ice measurement program at the Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory.
