US Army Regimental Personnel Allocation Study (REPAST).

Abstract

The REPAST Study is to assist HQDA in the development of a regimental system for cavalry units. The assignment of armor battalions and cavalry squadrons to regiments resulted in unequal career opportunities for soldiers serving in different regiments. CMF 19 positions in organizations other than the regimental units were not affiliated with any regiment. Using a sequential linear goal programming model the study distributed the extraregimental MOS 19E and 19K positions among the regiments to equalize individual career opportunities.
