Order of Functioning

Abstract

This background document provides information for determining the order of functioning of explosive charges and types of functioning (detonation or deflagration). Detonation is high-order functioning, and deflagration is low- order functioning. It also provides analysis on explosives functioning in the air, on land, after penetrating armor plate and within weapon tubes.
