Cerenkov Radiation Generated by Periodic Electron Bunches in a Finite Air Path.

Abstract

Microwave Cerenkov radiation is measured for the case of bunched electron beams which exceed the velocity of light in a finite air path. The theoretical equation for prediction of the form of the power for Cerenkov radiation is tested experimentally for this case. Initial verification of the theory is observed. (Author)
