Theoretical Methods in the Calculation of the Bremsstrahlung Recoil Force in a Nonequilibrium Beam-Plasma System.

Abstract

The reduction of the lowest order nonlinear bremsstrahlung recoil force on the bare charge of an unperturbed relativistic test particle in a nonequilibrium beam-plasma system is derived from first principles. The purpose is to identify many of the important physical assumptions and mathematical techniques involved in Tsytovich's theory of nonlinear bremsstrahlung and radiative unstability. (Author)
