A Laboratory Facility for the Measurement of the Optical Properties of Obscurants.

Abstract

The presence of natural and vehicle-made dusts, fires and smoke obscurants seriously degrades the performance of electro-optical sensors operated in military environments. This memorandum describes a laboratory facility for the measurement of the visual and infrared mass extinction coefficients of obscurants under controlled environmental conditions. (Author)
