Methanol/Water Fuel Container for 1.5 KW Fuel Cell Power Unit.

Abstract

A blow molded container of high density polyethylene has been developed to store methanol/water fuel (58% methanol) before and during use as a supply for a 1.5 KW fuel cell power unit for use in forward field positions by the US Army. Also included is accessory hardware needed to transfer the fuel. A limited number of containers and hardware have been delivered to the US Army Belvoir Research and Development Center. This work demonstrated the technical feasibility of producing the container in volume. (Author)
