Energy Release and Fluid Dynamics in Multiphase Systems.

Abstract

In the following discussion we will summarize the work performed by Science Applications, Inc. (SAI) on 'Energy Release and Fluid Dynamics in Multiphase Systems' during the technical performance period ending February 1984. During this contract period, our attention was focussed primarily on: (1) studying the structure and propagation of multidimensional detonations, and (2) shock initiation of detonations with an emphasis on power-energy relations. The efforts and accomplishments in each of these areas is described below in some detail.
