Flexible Manufacturing Systems. Phase IV.

Abstract

This report is a summary of work performed under contract to the Army Tank Automotive Command for the fourth phase of a five phase FMS project funded by the Army's manufacturing Methods and Technology Program. During this phase, computer analysis and simulation tools developed during the previous phases of the project were implemented through support efforts for US army Rock Island Arsenal, and three Army contractors: General Electric Ordnance Systems Division; Hughes Aircraft Company; and FMC Corporation. The arsenal and three contractor companies were in the process of investigating/implementing FMS technology and used the Draper Labs support to aids in their system design, analysis, and decision making efforts.
