Nulling in Array Patterns with Orthogonal Analytic Cancellation Beams,

Abstract

A method of reducing the coupling between the analytic beams formed to place multiple nulls in the radiation patterns of phased array antennas is developed using cancellation beams that are orthogonal in the sense that each beam has nulls in the directions where the other beams have maximums. A formulation for these beams is presented for arrays in which the element amplitude and phase are adjusted and for arrays in which only the phase is adjusted. (Author)
