Early Training Estimation System (ETES). Appendix J. User's Guide. Automated Planning and Scheduling Technique for Individual and Collective Training Plan

Abstract

This report describes the research and development activities conducted under the Early Training Estimation System (ETES) development project. The Early Training Estimation System (ETES) is an integrated set of procedures and automated tools for estimating training requirements during the earliest phases of the weapon system acquisition process. This user's guide describes a set of Automated Scheduling and Planning Techniques (APST) for describing and monitoring the training development schedule for developing Army weapon systems. The guide is designed to be used with the Visi-Schedule software, which is an automated program for describing, monitoring and reporting schedule information and for conducting critical path analyses of schedule events. A data input diskette, describing the events required in the Army's Individual and Collective Training Plan (ICTP), is included as part of the APST package. It helps to train developers to track and monitor the complex relationships among the events in the training development schedule. In addition, by providing an automated capability to modify the training schedule, it should aid training developers in responding quickly and efficiently to the frequent schedule changes which occur during the development of Army weapon systems.
